EzScan Tracks Attendance for Continuing Education Credits
The Manitoba College of Family Physicians use EzScan to track attendance at their Annual Scientific Assembly. EzScan and wireless barcode scanners were a cost effective and simple solution to track attendance for continuing education credits. The registrant list and sessions were pre-loaded onto the scanners for data validation and registrants were scanned when they entered each session. EzScan produced the attendance file with credits earned by each registrant, which was uploaded to the central member database and eliminated the need for the member physicians to update their credits manually.

Over 10,000 partygoers made BeB the party of the year at Montreal's Palais des Congress. For an event this popular barcode ticket validation was essential. 12 wireless scanners were used to scan and validate tickets in real time as patrons entered the event. To handle the volume of people entering the event the system was benchmarked at 20 scans per second. The system detected and prevented 161 duplicate tickets, and was used by Fire Marshalls to verify event counters.
Wireless Barcode Scanners used to combat H1N1
Winnipeg H1N1 mass vaccinations clinics use wireless barcode scanners to scan and track over 200,000 people. 96 barcode scanners were deployed at 12 clinics around Winnipeg to track people through the vaccination process. The system produced daily reports for hourly vaccination rates, peak times, low times and average wait times at each clinic. "We were able to role out the solution in 3 weeks" said Hayley Kirk, COO Interspan Solutions Inc. "Our main priority was to make the system very easy to use. Every day new volunteers had to operate the system with little or no training."
